0 Cramming for an Examination

Hi, fellas, how’s your day? Great, huh? Now I would like to share my work when I got middle term of Writing subject in the 5^th semester. This is an essay which at that time we were given the title and at that time we should make and finish our essay. So, challenging, huh? However it’s fun. You can explore anything in your mind and spilled it out to essay. Although looks like an amateur’s work, but it is my essay :p hope it can gives you inspiration :D

 Cramming for an Examination

Cramming is a bad activity usually done by many students before facing an examination. Cramming has become a bad habit for students. Actually, there are many factors that can make students do cramming, such as laziness or limited time. However, the students don’t realize that cramming gives them many disadvantages. Cramming gives many bad effects for students, such as getting bad concentration, getting bad mark, and wasting time.

Firstly, because of cramming, you can’t concentrate to your study. It is happened because you just have limited time. You mind will think that you have limited time while you have to read many materials. In this condition, you will not be able to remember your material well because you have to manage your limited time and memorize many materials. You can’t concentrate also can be happened because you are sleepy. Your activities since the morning until the afternoon will force you o go to bed. This condition also gives impact for your physical condition which can be dropped. Absolutely, if you get unwell body, you will not be able to concentrate to your study.

Secondly, cramming makes you can not get good mark. Cramming is just done in one night with very limited time. It makes you less of study. You will just get limited material from what you should learn, so in the examination you will not be able to answer the questions correctly. Because of very limited material you have, you will find another way to answer the question; it could be through cheating. You will not know what will happen later. If you are caught by your teacher, you will absolutely get zero mark. Moreover, you have to remember that, you friends are not always right. They might be like you, so, cramming will just give you a bad mark in your examination.

Thirdly, cramming just waste your time. Once again, cramming is just done in one night with a very limited time. All of materials that have been read by you can not be well saved in your memory. Although they can be saved, they are just saved in your short term memory. Cramming forces you to study hard again. As I mentioned before in the previous paragraph that cramming makes you get bad mark, so that cramming absolutely will be bale to send you to get remedial. It means that you will learn the same materials in another day. So, it can be said that cramming is really useless and makes you waste your time.

From those explanations, we can conclude that cramming just gives many disadvantages for your examination. Therefore, cramming should be avoided in order to get better result in your examination.

0 Mehndi

Salaam..

Well, my friends, now I would like to share my experience about mehndi hihi. Mehndi or Mahendi is an art in drawing pattern in your body use certain material usually called henna. this art is very famous in India.The more description can you read here.

Last week my friends (Ka Ava & Bella) and I were asked to help Ka Lala (Ka rit’s friends) to be a model of mahendi patterns. We were very glad to be asked. \^^/

Ka Lala actually has talent in drawing many patterns of mahendi on people’s hand, without any hesitation, she drew quickly. Wusshhh and tadaaaaa. I’ll show you the result after this. :p

first, lemme show you the process of making mehndi on my hand at that time ..

Our hand should be wrap by tissue and wrapping plastic to make mehndi liquid and the pattern saved. We have to keep it about 2-3 hours before the layer of mehndi can be opened.

3 Helen Keller and Dactylology

Hi, anyone! Do you know Helen Keller? Oh, God, please! Just throw yourself to the pond if you don’t know her.. haha *peace. Okay, for everybody who doesn’t know her, I’ll tell you a brief profile of her.

Helen Adams Keller (June 27, 1880 – June 1, 1968) was an American author, political activist, and lecturer. She was the first deaf-blind person to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree. The story of how Keller's teacher, Anne Sullivan, broke through the isolation imposed by a near complete lack of language, allowing the girl to blossom as she learned to communicate, has become widely known through the dramatic depictions of the play and film The Miracle Worker.

Helen Adam Keller was born as a normal girl in Tuscumbia, Alabama, USA, in a place known as “Ivy Green”. Her father and mother were people who have well-known name in public. Helen was verdict a disease when she was 19 months old and she had to suffer from it. She had been deaf and blind before she knew how to read and write. She grew as a ‘wild’ and impolite girl.

Helen Keller’s new life began on March 1887 when she was about 7 years old. A woman came to her, named Anne Mansfield Sullivan from Tuscumbia and became her teacher. She was a-20-year-old-woman, graduate from Perkin School-a special school for blind people. She got her sight back after passing some operation. She came to Keller’s family according to the suggestion from Alexander Graham Bell who was Anne’s acquaintance.

Miss Sullivan started her task to change Helen to become a good and success girl. She began her teaching by giving a doll made by children from Perkin School. By spelling d-o-l-l through her hand, she could connect the object and the letter. Helen learned quickly. Day by day she could even reach 30 new words a day. And now, she’d got well known in the world. She is full of inspiration!

So, what is actually the relation between Helen Keller and my posting today? Let me tell you.

When I was in 3^rd semester, my friend suggested me to watch the film about her. That film was giving inspiration to all of people who watch. It has long time I watched that film, but now I’m interested in learning dactylology. And you know what? dactylology is a method used by Anne Sullivan to teach Helen Keller. =D

Dactylology (or Finger-spelling) is the representation of the letters of a writing system, and sometimes numeral systems, using only the hands. These manual alphabets (also known as finger alphabets or hand alphabets), have often been used in deaf education, and have subsequently been adopted as a distinct part of a number of sign languages around the world. Based on my opinion, there are so many kind and improvement in the development of dactylology, because according to various sources, I conclude that there are several differences in some shape of fingers to represent the letter.  Here I’ll give you the comparison picture of ‘old dactylology’ and ‘new dactylology’. • You have additional capability in language
•  You can communicate with your friends or teach them if they have difficulties in speaking. (I’m sorry, i.e. deaf or blind, *I’m serious*)
•  You have new knowledge, and the important thing is.........
•  If you want to tell something secret to your friend (s/he has also to be tacit ‘bout it), just use dactylology, because not everybody know and wanna learn about it. So, let’s try! =D
